Meet Frieda Olivia - Bringing the Flavours of Indonesia to Cape Town!

Welcome to my world of bold Indonesian flavours with a modern twist! I am Frieda, an ethnic Javanese, born and raised in Central Java, Indonesia.

I started my journey of introducing the vibrant taste of Indonesia to Cape Town through the Bali Food Truck in 2016. Our food truck serves up bold Indonesian flavors, blending traditional recipes with a contemporary flair. You can find us at selected festivals in Cape Town, and we also offer home delivery service as well as catering for your special/private events.

Throughout my culinary adventure, I have come to notice the growing global popularity of a staple food that I hold close to my heart - Tempeh, the soybean fermented cake. It has emerged as a superfood, captivating the attention of health-conscious individuals worldwide. During the first lockdown, I decided to take a step further and promote Tempeh in Cape Town under our brand, Tempehsa.

At Tempeh SA, my dream is to provide everyone with access to a healthy and balanced lifestyle by offering them a wholesome alternative to meat or the opportunity to diversify their current plant-based diet with the incredible health benefits and delightful taste of Tempeh.
